Welcome to Camp Quarantine!

Camp Quarantine is a virtual camporee for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scouts, and their families. This event is a collaboration between Heart of New England Council and Western Massachusetts Council.

Camp Quarantine will allow Scouts of all ages to participate in advancement opportunities, virtual hikes, special seminars, a Scouts Own service, a virtual campfire, and even a 10k all while “camping out” in their own backyard and observing social distancing guidelines.

Sounds like fun! How do I participate?

This is event is free of charge, but both councils are encouraging donations to help us offset revenue lost from other Spring activities. Click on your council’s link to register and/or make a donation. Then:

  • Set up camp in your backyard, or even living room, while maintaining social distancing.
  • Take pictures and video of your camp and share them on the Camp Quarantine Facebook event page.
  • Take pictures and video of you and your family participating in the activities and share those on theFacebook event page.
  • Use this site to find the different sessions and activities you can participate in.
  • Volunteer to do a campfire skit, song, or story or a grace for meals, or a prayer for the Scouts Own service.

A Word about time

Camp Quarantine 2020 started as an effort between two Massachusetts councils, but it has taken on a life of its own to include participants from all over the country. We’re very excited about this, but it poses some logistical challenges. All times listed on this page are US Eastern Daylight Time (GMT -4). We understand that it may be challenging for participants in other time zones to attend the earlier sessions in real-time. We will do our best, working within the BSA’s Youth Protection guidelines regarding recordings, to make as much content as possible available for later viewing. We appreciate your understanding.

Commemorate your participation in our first “virtual camporee”, and overcoming the challenges of Spring 2020, with your collectible Camp Quarantine 2020 patch.

support your local council

COVID-19 has been disruptive, not only to our units and our programs, but also to the fundraising efforts that help make Scouting possible in our councils. Registration for Camp Quarantine includes an optional contribution to our host councils’ Friends of Scouting campaigns. If you are not from one of our host councils, we encourage you to make a contribution to your home council to help support Scouting locally.
